About me

Hi, I'm Lias - a white, queer, non-binary, and neurodivergent therapist, relationship counsellor, and healing facilitator working with Internal Family Systems, aspects of Somatics, and Emotionally Focused Therapy from a depathologizing, identity-affirming, and anti-colonial lens. My additional work as an (early stage) community organizer comes from a heartfelt care for liberation and justice for everyone, especially those disproportionally affected by the oppressive systems we live in.

I grew up in a working-class family in a small village in the Ore Mountains in the east of Germany. I am passionate about genealogy and believe that the lineages and places we come from hugely impact how we live life. I know that the people who came before me have a big influence on how I exist and can transform intergenerational burdens into a purposeful presence on this planet.

I love being in forests or floating in the ocean, trying to make my own herbal medicine, foraging, watching period pieces and dramas and vampire shows, reading in my bed while drinking tea, and being with the cat I am guardian of. I'm also super intrigued by dream work and know that our dream worlds long to tell us bigger things than we might want to imagine. Spiritually, I identify as an animist and am guided by a sense of our interconnectedness with all life.

The way I am learning, practising, and "de"-colonizing healing, would in no way be possible without continuously learning from Black, Indigineous, and People of Colour, mad and disabled folks, and anyone else who has been kind enough to share their anti-colonial knowledge, wisdom, intuition, and lived experience with the public through social media, books, spoken word, or with me in my own personal life. This includes public figures such as Ismatu Gwendolyn (Threadings.), Adrienne Maree Brown (Holding Change), Prentis Hemphill, Robin Wall Kimmerer (Braiding Sweetgrass), Tamala Floyd (Listening When Parts Speak), Kelly Hayes & Mariame Kaba (Let This Radicalize You), Bell Hooks (All about Love), Micha Frazer-Carroll (Mad World - The Politics of Mental Health), my close friends, comrades, and community (online & offline), and many more. All I know is based on what I know and have learned from all of them.  Because of their generosity, I am able to grow beyond white supremacy, individualism, and racial capitalism.
