About me

Hi, I'm Lias - a white, queer, non-binary, and neurodivergent therapist, relationship counsellor, and early stage community organizer.  I offer spaceholding for people who want to work on personal and intergenerational trauma  in ways that achieve long lasting internal transformation and build capacity for community, connection, liberation, and doing what you love to do in life. I accompany people's processes with gentleness and authenticity, while working from a depathologizing, identity-affirming, and anti-colonial lens. You can learn more about my therapeutic approach here.

I grew up in a working-class family in a small village in the Ore Mountains (east of Germany) and believe that the lineages and places we come from hugely impact us. For this reason, I'm very interested in genealogy and reconnecting with European folk wisdom before chiristianisation. Spiritually, I identify as an animist guided by a sense of our interconnectedness with everything that is. The mountains, hills, forests and meadows make me feel at home as I grew up with and around them. I'm generally a big fan of all the beautiful creatures that live on this earth (with a special love for insects, medicinal plants, and mushrooms).

I love floating in water - be it a lake or the sea, it just gives me a sense of feeling grounded and free. Other than that, I genuinely enjoy watching period dramas, making kitchen medicine, learning about herbalism, and reading about plants, love, spirituality, healing, and revolution.

The way I am learning, practising, and "de"-colonizing healing, would in no way be possible without continuously learning from Black, Indigineous, and People of Colour, mad and disabled folks, and anyone else who has been kind enough to share their anti-colonial knowledge, wisdom, intuition, and lived experience with the public through social media, books, spoken word, or with me in my own personal life. This includes public figures such as Ismatu Gwendolyn (Threadings.), Adrienne Maree Brown (Holding Change), Prentis Hemphill, Robin Wall Kimmerer (Braiding Sweetgrass), Tamala Floyd (Listening When Parts Speak), Kelly Hayes & Mariame Kaba (Let This Radicalize You), Bell Hooks (All about Love), Micha Frazer-Carroll (Mad World - The Politics of Mental Health), my close friends, comrades, and community (online & offline), and many more. All I know is based on what I know and have learned from all of them.  Because of their generosity, I am able to grow beyond socialized whiteness, individualism, and racial capitalism.
Please note that I am a privately practising healing facilitator - spaceholder - psychological counsellor (german/deutsch: psychologische Beratung/Prozessbegleitung) and do not offer a licensed psychotherapeutic, medical, public, or crisis service.  If you desire reimbursement for any sessions from your health insurance, you will need to discuss the possibility of this with your insurers and then independently file for compensation.
