About LiasI'm a white, queer, xenogender, and neurodivergent healing facilitator, relationship anarchist, and early stage community builder - organizer - abolitionist. I love both going on adventures and being cozy at home. Some of my favourite activities include spending time in bookstores, floating in water, being surrounded by non-human beings, cooking, reading, and engaging in my autistic passions (e.g. Internal Family Systems, ancestral stuff, watching period dramas, astrology, tarot, & everything liberation) in the presence of and with others.
〜 My most recent ancestors (parents, grandparents, great-grandparents) experienced the historical and political climates and trauma of the GDR and the two world wars. I've had the privilege to hear even my great-grandma share stories about the war while she was still alive some years ago. Early settlers reached the Ore Mountains around 1168, making it likely that my roots and ancestry before that reaches until Eastern Europe, the Balkans, and other parts of Northern and Western Europe. 〜 I was raised in a working-class family in a small village in the Ore Mountains in eastern Germany. Where I am from, people deeply care about and for the land, and the sensitivity of feeling deeply connected to every piece of grass under my feet is an ancestral gift I carry in the tissue of my body. However, this care for the land is dangerously conflated with fascist ideologies in the region, which makes the Ore Mountains an extremely hostile and violent place to live in for anyone who is marginalized. This, among other reasons, led me to leave my land and live on other lands - currently Barcelona, Spain. 〜 My education, of course, was shaped by Western colonial institutions. I am committed to a life-long practice of moving towards anti-colonial and anti-capitalist practises of healing and existing. My long-term vision is to co-create and facilitate sustainable spaces for community building, collective healing, & liberation practices. |
Education & Training
First and foremost, I want to acknowledge the way I am learning, practising, and decolonizing healing would in no way be possible without continuously learning from Black, Indigineous, and People of Colour, mad and disabled folks, and anyone else who has been kind enough to share their anti-colonial knowledge, wisdom, intuition, and lived experience with the public through social media, books, spoken word, or with me in my own personal life. This includes public figures such as Ismatu Gwendolyn (Threadings.), Care (@eroticsofliberarion, Liberation Pracise Field), Adrienne Maree Brown (Holding Change), Prentis Hemphill, Dr. Jennifer Mullan (@decolonizingtherapy, Decolonizing Therapy), Robin Wall Kimmerer (Braiding Sweetgrass), Tamala Floyd (Listening When Parts Speak), Kelly Hayes and Mariame Kaba (Let This Radicalize You), Bell Hooks (All about Love), Micha Frazer-Carroll (Mad World - The Politics of Mental Health), my close friends, comrades, and community (online & offline), and many more. All I know is based on what I know and have learned from all of them. Into the universe, I thank them for so graciously sharing and spreading their infinite wisdom into the world, knowing our earth is a much better place because of them. I am beyond grateful that as a white person, I have the privilege to learn from their wisdom in order to deconstruct all the shit I have been indoctrinated with. All of this, despite the fact that as white people, we have taken and oppressed, and continue to take so much from BIPoC as colonialism, racial capitalism, and white supremacy continue to harm groups targeted for marginalization. Because of the generosity of people more marginalized than me, I have and continue to have the privilege to deconstruct and grow beyond what colonialism, white supremacy, racial capitalism, and individualism have made me believe.
